There is no minimum class size for these courses and the maximum number of pupils is 30. There will be no cost incurred to participate in Gaelic NQs.
For N4/N5, a background in Gaelic Medium Education or Gaelic spoken at home is required. For Higher a National 5 or equivalent qualification is required. For Advanced Higher a Higher or equivalent qualification is required.
The courses will start w/b 25th August 2025.
Gaelic (Learners) Entry Requirements:
For National 4, there is no knowledge of Gaelic required. For National 5, some background in the language e.g. Duolingo or SpeakGaelic is required. For Higher a B at National 5 is recommended. For Advanced Higher an A at Higher is recommended.
As part of the application for the Gaelic (Learners) course, candidates will undertake a task to assess their level and ensure they are in the correct class.

Mode of Study:
The course is a mix of live lessons and personal study. Independent work outside class, alongside homework, will be required. Pupils should expect to dedicate 2 periods, in addition to the 4 live lessons, as well as time at home for homework.
