NHS Education for Scotland
P6, P7, S1, S2, S3
January 2024 to June 2024
|Number of Sessions:
300 Learners per session
Pupils will have a deeper understanding of the role of Allied Health Professionals in the NHS and the skills required to undertake these roles. They will explore how their own learning, skills and interests would apply to these roles and the career pathways available to them.
These online sessions will spotlight careers in three Allied Health Professions over three days:
- Session One: Orthoptics
- Session Two: Physiotherapy
- Session Three: Podiatry
Resources will be shared with teachers for before the sessions and to provide further information for those interested afterwards.
Mentimeter will be used during the sessions to engage with learners so devices for individual or groups of learners is desirable.
Following the initial sessions in November we will be looking to organise some on demand sessions in the new year that fit in with school timetables for those unable to attend.
Pupils will gain an insight into professions in NHS Scotland. They may not realise the range of careers available in the NHS and the different opportunities that exist that may be a suitable match for their skills and interests.
Webcam for class to support interaction. Individual or groups of devices to facilitate Mentimeter use. Teacher to facilitate any class discussions.
