Scotland's Assembly - World Refugee Day
This live online assembly for Primary school pupils will highlight World Refugee Day and invite schools to get involved to mark the day. It is also an opportunity to hear from Amal Azzudin, an activist campaigning for refugee justice in Scotland and one of the original Glasgow Girls. Amal will be speaking with young people at Drumchapel High's Anti-racist Club (which is facilitated by their teacher Ms Angel Hinkley), and Sabir Zazai (CEO of Scottish Refugee Council), about why it is important for young people to express their support for refugees and what they can do to take action.
After the assembly, teachers can use the following lesson materials to support further classroom discussion.
